DAVAO City's 2006 BIMP-Eaga Friendship Games gold medallist El Santo Santos and fellow campaigner Steffi Marie Dizon will be among the favorite players when the Racquet Sports Age-Group gets going from December 20 to 23 at the Ecoland 4 Tennis Courts.
Santos bagged the men's singles gold and salvaged the men's doubles silver together with James Patrick Pang of Mati, Davao Oriental in the just-concluded annual Games held at Makassar City, South Sulawesi, Indonesia.
Philippine Tennis Association (Philta) regional vice-president Juanito Cansino Jr. told Sun.Star Davao that the entry fee for every participant is P200.
"We will also accept double entry players," Cansino said.
The tournament expects to attract close to a hundred players from all over the region including bets from Cotabato City, South Cotabato, General Santos City and Cagayan de Oro City.
The event will have a 10-under unisex, boys' and girls' 12-under, 14-under, 16-under and 18-under categories. Cansino said winners will receive cash prizes and trophies. (MLSA)
