Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is expected to fire the ceremonial shoot during the opening rites along with lawyers Joel Babista and Albert Sipaco Jr. who founded the fraternity at the Ateneo de Davao University College of Law in 1974.

"The competition is geared towards promoting responsible gun ownership and build camaraderie among gun owners and shooting enthusiasts," Cloribel said.

He added the shootfest will also serve as a venue where lawyers, judges, government officials, civilians and other gun owners to come together in advocating firearms safety and conscientious gun ownership.

The level 1 tournament is sanctioned by the Philippine Practical Shooting Association (PPSA). It will have four stages with a minimum of 74 rounds.

Registration fee is pegged at P450 for regular shooters while P350 for lawmen personnel. Inquiries may be coursed through Cloribel at mobile number (0920) 8803-777. (MLSA)
