GBL-SMB Cup badminton up

THE 3rd Gene Boyd Lumawag Sarap Mag Badminton SMB Cup gets underway at the 4Play Badminton Gym Sunday.

Sun.Star Network Online's 12th Asean Summit Watch

Close to 20 entries are seeing action in the one-day tournament organized in memory of slain photojournalist Gene Boyd Lumawag, son of Sun.Star Davao photo editor Rene Lumawag.

The tournament features a men's doubles, mixed doubles and women's doubles events.

Cash prizes and medals are at stake for the top three winners in each category.

The annual event is organized by the Office of Councilor Avila and presented by San Miguel Corporation and 4Play Badminton Courts.

It is in coordination with MindaNews, Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA), Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas, Philippine Information Agency (PIA) 11 and Talomo Badminton Team. (MLSA)
