The family was already asleep when the blast occurred.

According to neighbors two men on board a motorcycle arrived at around 9 p.m., parked in front of the Azao residence, and lobbed a grenade.

Guimbangan died on the spot, while his family was hit by shrapnels on different parts of the body. The Maguindanao PNP is still trying to determine whether the motive was personal grudge or rido (family vendetta).(JAR/GF)
