Three-term Data president Art Boncato of Marco Polo Hotel Davao presented the association's accomplishments during the year and president over the election of officers, which followed.
Boncato said the Asean Tourism Forum was the biggest tourism event in Davao during the year just ended. He also reported facts and figures on the region's travel and tours industry in 2006 and briefly discussed his forecast for 2007.
Elected with Puentespina were Gene Bangayan of The Venue, executive vice president; Marijac Pamintuan of Apo View Hotel, vice president for hotels; Renato "Gatchi" Gatchalian of Blugre, vice president for restaurants; Kathy Manuel of Pearl Farm Resort, vice president for resorts; Joy Querencia of House of Travel, vice president for travel and tours; Bert Barriga of NCCC, vice president for allied services; Emilie Dalisay of the Philippine Women's College of Davao, secretary; Babes Cabebe of Casino Filipino Davao, treasurer; and Baby Robillo of Hotel Maguindanao, auditor.
The meeting and Christmas party was graced with the presence of Ms. Joji Ilagan-Bian, past president of Data for several terms.
