HCDC spikers dominate

THE Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) bagged the men's and women's titles at the close of the Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte Pahalipay Inter-School Volleyball Tournament at the Rizal Park Sunday.

The HCDC men spikers carved out a 25-16, 25-23 victory over DMMA College of Southern Philippines (DCSP) in the finals to pocket the P5,000 top purse.

The third spot went to the University of Mindanao, which beating UCLA, 24-26, 25-14, 25-15.

In the distaff side, the HCDC volleybelles demolished perennial rival University of Mindanao (UM), 25-22, 25-14 for the crown while Jose Maria College spanked Ateneo de Davao University, 22-25, 25-20, 25-23 for third.

The runners-up received P3,500 each in the three-day event presented by Mayor Duterte through the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office. (MLSA)
