Davao teams eye crown

THE two Davao City teams seeing action in the Inter-Church Basketball League (ICBL)-Cebu set to open on January 29 are eyeing to bring home the crown.

"We hope to bring home the bacon," declared Beatitudes Christian Fellowship (BCF) head coach Eric Diamse.

The River of God Church Pastor Blair Cuares also nodded in agreement when they guested with ICBL director Gary Visitacion in Thursday's Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at the Tower Inn.

"Aside from wanting to bring home the bacon, I also hope I get to bring my players close to God that's why I prepared them physical, mentally and spiritually," Cuares said.

Visitacion said the teams' morale is high after a handful of people gave their support.

"We are very thankful to BAP (Basketball Association of the Philippines) regional director Regino "Boy" Cua and city sports coordinator Christopher "Bong" Go for helping our teams. We are also thankful to Ed Sandoval
of Joysan's Tailoring who is donating three sets of uniforms for the Davao delegation," Visitacion added.

He also asked Dabawenyos to pray for the ICBL Davao teams, saying that their victory is the victory of the entire people of Davao. (MLSA)
