EL SANTO Santos and the Dizon siblings--Andrei and Steffi Marie--of Davao City bagged titles at the close Sunday of the Mayor Franklin Bautista Age-Group Tennis Tournament in Malita, Davao del Sur.
Santos, 2006 BIMP-Eaga Friendship Games gold medallist, bested Digos City netter Ryan Bendijo in the boys 18-under finals of their Philippine Tennis Association (Philta)-sanctioned match.
Andrei Dizom defeated Princeton Gerapusco of Polomolok, South Cotabato, while Steffi Marie whipped Digos bet Eloisa Collo in the boys 16-under and girls 18-under finals matches, respectively.
Collo, however, came back strong to capture the girls 16-under crown at the expense of Cindy Gerapusco. The latter also settled for the girls 14-under runner-up place after bowing to Camille Zapatos of Digos.
Three other Davao City players emerged champions in their respective categories.
Andre Banate crushed fellow Ateneo de Davao Univeristy (AdDU) player Juan Paolo Cansino in the boys 14-under, while James Sumaylo downed Jonathan Palac in boys 12-under.
Joelyn Accion beat Alexandria Razonable of Padada, Davao del Sur for the girls 12-under crown.
In the 10-under unisex, Jeleardo Amazona of Banay-Banay, Davao Oriental overwhelmed Paolo Javier of Polomolok, South Cotabato to bag the title.
