Barte ousts Russian foe in Bangladesh
DAVAO City's Ralph Kevin Barte, seeded sixth, ousted Russian Jason Wolfson, 6-3, 6-0, in the opener of the BKSP International Junior Championships at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protistan, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Barte ended his stint in the boys singles quarter-finals of the recently concluded Hong Kong International Juniors Championships.

He is set to bounce back from the Hong Kong debacle and try to better his performance in the BkSP netfest and in two other Bangladesh tournaments in the next two weeks.
The 17-year-old Barte, a Palarong Pambansa and Batang Pinoy gold medallist during his elementary years at the Rizal Memorial Colleges, will next clash against Russian Carl Kuschke in the next round.
In other matches, unheralded Great Britain player Max Gregor shocked top-seed Damian Hume of Russia, 6-4, 4-6, 7-5, while No. 2 Hsu-Chun Huang of Taipei routed Pryank Gangadharan of India, 6-3, 6-3.
Indian Karanuday Singh defeated Sudanwa Sitaram, 6-4 7-6 (9), No. 8 I-ta Chen neat Ukraine's Dimitri Kovalyov, 6-0, 6-1 and No. 3 Jeong-Han Seo of Korea crushed Bangladeshi Ranjan Ram, 6-2, 6-2. (MLSA)
