By Ben O. Tesiorna

AUTHORITIES in Arakan Valley, North Cotabato are still clueless as to the identity of the two bodies unearthed from a shallow grave in Barangay Dalag last January 20.

Diama said while pasturing his carabao that day he noticed foul odor coming out from a newly filled hole in a grassy area. Suspecting that a dead person was buried there, he immediately reported it to the barangay officials who in turn reported it to the police.

Upon verification, the two bodies that are in the state of decomposition were recovered. Authorities noticed that the male victim sustained injury believed to be gunshot wound on the left face particularly on the side of his nose.

The two victims were both naked and their mouth wrapped with packing tape.

The male victim is about 5'6" in height, weighing about 60 kilos and aged from 30 to 40 years old. The female victim meanwhile is 5'3" and weighs 52 kilograms and aged from 18 to 25.

As of this report the bodies are at Somo Funeral Homes in Arakan Valley waiting for claimants.
