Population grows unchecked despite Pinoy's lower libido
By Carlo P. Mallo

DESPITE research findings that Filipinos have less libido compared to their Asian counterparts, the population in the country continues to peak.

A major reason for this, according to Dr. Margarita Holmes, the country's leading clinical psychologist, is the continued effort against the use of contraceptives.

"We have the traditional church, schools, and even some government officials who denounce the use of the contraceptives," Holmes said in an interview.

Contraceptives, due to pressures from the Catholic Church, have been prohibited from the various government-run health centers. The government is now advocating the use of natural methods of family planning.

As a staunch feminist, Dr. Holmes believes that it is about time that the Filipino woman be given enough freedom and options to choose what she asserts would be best for her.

The city has recently been a witness to numerous aborted fetuses that were discarded like any other form of rubbish.

Abortion usually results from the impregnation of unprepared individuals to bear children.

Holmes was in the city over the weekend for a talk show at the CAP mini-auditorium entitled, "Before I Do."
