First Engr. Diez Cup fires off Feb. 17-18

THE first Engr. Allan Diez Chess Cup will fire off Feb. 17-18 either at the NCCC Mall or the Osmeña Park.

Davao City Chess Club president Sammy Yu revealed this to Sun.Star Davao, saying the chessfest will have Open and kiddies categories.

The winner in the Open category will receive P5,000 plus a trophy, while the second and third placers will get P3,000 and P2,000, respectively. Like the champion, both will also win trophies.

Fourth finisher is assured of P1,000 and a medal, and fifth P500.

In the kiddies division, the 14 and under winner will receive P500, second P300 and third P200.

All the top three placers will also get medals, according to Yu. (CRAM)
