A MUSLIM general is reportedly held against his will by members of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) in Jolo since Friday.
General Ben Dolorfino along with several military and government officials were allegedly held against their will by Ustadz Habier.
The other officials held against their will are identified only as Colonel Ramon, Colonel Baboon, one young officer, Undersecretary Santos, Carol Latorre, some staff of Santos, five Marines, two Army and Hj Hatae, driver of Governor Ben Loong.
Dolorfino's group was reportedly about to go home after a meeting with the MNLF when Habier suddenly told them they could not go home unless they are fetched by chairman Nur Misuari.
Secretary Jesus Dureza immediately went to Jolo Saturday to negotiate for Dolorfino's release.
It was not known what prompted the MNLF to hold Dolorfino's group against their will. (BOT)For more Philippine news, visit Sun.Star General Santos. For Bisaya stories from Davao. Click here. (February 4, 2007 issue) Write letter to the editor.Click here. Join the Sun.Star message board.Click here. |
