INDIAN Abhijeet Tiwari shocked seventh-seed Davao City netter RAlph Kevin Barte, 6-0, 6-3, in the second round of the Bangladesh International Junior Championships boys singles in National Tennis Complex, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Barte, however, will yet see action in the doubles event where he is set to add to his two straight titles he won in the BKSP and Rajshahi events also held in other venues in Bangladesh the past two weeks.

Top-seed Hsien-Yin Peng demolished Agnel Gladwin Peter of India, 6-3, 6-4, while compatriot Liang-Chi Huang overwhelmed Jason Wolfson of Russia, 6-0, 6-1. No. 6 Dean O'Brien of Russia ousted Bangladeshi Prithul Mondal, 6-2, 6-0, while No. 4 Korean Jeong-Han Seo crushed Max Gregor, 6-1, 6-2 and Christopher Marquis stunned No. 14 Mansingh Althare, 6-2, 6-2.

In other matches, Karanuday Singh whipped I-Ta Chen of Chinese Taipei, 6-4, 6-0, Ronak Manuja downed Juan De Villers of Russia, 6-2, 6-4.

The Grade 3 event is recognized by the International Tennis Federation. (MLSA)
