THE National Bureau of Investigation in Southern Mindanao arrested two men claiming to be their agents and one of the men's accomplices in an entrapment operation in Buhangin, Friday night.
Agent Jonathan Balite identified the suspects as Nino Angelo Laconico Diao, 33, a resident of Block A-7 Lot 5 in SIR Matina, this city; Henry Celiz dela Fuente, resident of Block 2 Lot 3, resident of Dacoville subdivision in Dumoy, this city; and Marietta Santiago Ampit, who hails from Southern Davao in Panabo City.
Balite said the mode of operation of the group is to extort money from foreigners.
"May pumunta dito (somebody came here) and complained about the said group.
Agent Balite then planned an entrapment operation with other NBI agents against the group in Buhangin, near the house of the complainant.
He said the group went to the complainant's house and even brought the Japanese national with them.
Confiscated from the suspects were fake NBI badges and identification cards, an airgun and other valuables.
The suspects are now detained at the NBI-SEMRO detention cell and will be facing usurpation of authority, kidnapping with ransom and violation of the Omnibus Election Code charges.
