Dad praises LTO man who got his license
By Grace L. Plata

A TRAFFIC officer of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) Tuesday earned the praise of Councilor Wilberto Al-ag for citing him for a traffic violation.

In his privilege speech, Al-ag said he was driving his government-issued Ford Ranger pick-up when stopped by a certain AC Flores of LTO for a traffic violation.

Post your Valentine's Day greetings

The officer refused to let Al-ag off the hook even when the councilor identified himself as an elected official, showed proof of identification and showed the registration of the vehicle he was using.

"Walang personalan, Sir, trabaho lang po," Al-ag quoted the LTO officer as saying before he booked the councilor and confiscated his driver's license.

Al-ag said this just comes to show that in Davao City, everybody is treated equally under the law, which is the way it should be.

Vice Mayor Luis Bonguyan couldn't help but ask where the councilor's driver's license is now.

"Naa pa sa (It's still with the) LTO and I will attend the seminar to get it back," Al-ag said.
