Charged with violation of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, were Nestor Ollamina, 41, who hails from New Bataan in Compostela Valley, and Teofilo Tilao Pamugas, 29, a resident of Barangay Gumalang in Baguio district, this city.
City prosecutor Mario Duaves recommended the filing of charges based on the complaint of SPO4 Ursico Ungab of the Calinan police.
Ungab said that at around 12:10 p.m. of February 10, he was informed that two men possessed dried marijuana leaves, and were about to deliver it to someone.
He said that when responding policemen arrived, they were informed that the two suspects left on board a blue motorcycle and headed to a restaurant.
They went to the said restaurant and saw the two suspects having a drinking spree. He then approached them and introduced himself as a policeman.
He frisked the suspects and confiscated six bundles of dried marijuana wrapped in an old newspaper. Also confiscated was a cellular phone allegedly used in transacting illegal drugs deal, and the proceeds of the delivered stuff amounting to P1,540.
