"A total of P4.471 billion was collected last year," Furia said, adding that in 2005, revenue collected for the city reached to P3.6 billion only.

Furia said that Emcor appliance center was awarded last year as the outstanding taxpayer company in the city.

He said the regional office of the BIR is recommending the outstanding taxpayer to the national office for awarding at the end of every year.

He added that they are expecting an increase in revenue collection for this year if the economy will be better compared last year.

"But every year, we can see na improving ang revenue collected compared sa preceeding year," he said.

Meanwhile, Furia said that BIR has lined-up several programs to sustain the impementation of various programs.

"Meron tayong mga actions na ginagawa this year to sustain the implementation of the programs," Furia said.

Furia also revealed that there were around 800 establishments in the city last year that were considered as delinquent taxpayers.

"Nag-conduct kami ng investigation and we found out na kulang-kulang ang bayad ng mga firms na ito, pero nagbayad naman sila (the payments were lacking although they paid) after we discovered it," Furia said.

"Yung mga hindi talaga nakakabayad ng tax, kinakasuhan talaga yan sila ng (cases were filed to those who did not pay with the) BIR," he added.
