KALILANGAN'S loveliest muse and handsomest hunk were pronounced during the finals and coronation night of the search for Lakan at Lakambini ng Kalilangan 2007 at the Freedom Park Saturday.
Aldrico Lubaton of barangay Lagao emerged as this year's Lakan ng Kalilangan while Bituin Labastro from the Notre Dame of Dadiangas University was proclaimed as Lakambini ng Kalilangan.
These after showing their talent, grace and wit, besting 14 other candidates.
Lubaton during the interview portion said Kalilangan festival makes the city more special than the other parts of the country. Labastro, on the other hand, vows to help in saving the environment to serve as a role model in promoting environmental conservation.
The pageant, which was revived to highlight the celebration of this year's Kalilangan Festival, showcased the contestants' talents, finding which among them are unique and suited for the title.
Contestants paraded in their denim attires, casual and their artistically designed Kalilangan Costume in front of a panel of judges from the business, fashion, and entertainment headed by Dr. Rose Acharon.
Fifty percent of their scores during the pre-pageant, talent show, and the preliminary cerebral calisthenics several days back.

Natividad, Jong Gonzalez and Orlando Oco graced the pageant.
Other winners were Lakan at Lakambini ng SocSarGen (1st runners-up) Efren Catimbang Jr. and Daryl Grace Yalung; Lakan at Lakambini ng Gensan (2nd runners-up) Mark Anthony Arcena and Monica Navarro.
Both Lubaton and Labastro won P10,000 cash each, gift certificates, and trophies. Other winners also received cash prizes and gift certificates.
