Wednesday, March 07, 2007 Dinosaurs come alive in Davao
DINO World Traveling Exhibition, the first and only traveling dinosaur exhibition in Southeast Asia, sets foot in Philippine soil for the first time in Davao City.
Starting March 14, in time for the 70th Araw ng Dabaw celebration, there will be mammoth displays of dinosaur skeletons, robotic reptilian replicas and various interactive learning activities at the NCCC Mall Convention Center.
The Dino World Exhibit promises to take its visitors back to time and teach them about the origins of the dinosaurs and other pre-historic creatures that existed during the Mesozoic era through various state-of-the-art presentations and robotic models.
Dino World main attractions include Dinolandia, a mock-up of the habitat of dinosaurs that will showcase the actual movements of the pre-historic lizards in their natural environment; 3D Theater, a virtual reality experience that will enable guests to see the dinosaurs come alive using 3D techonology; Land Before Time, a living diorama that will showcase actual dinosaur skeletons and other pre-historic fossils and artifacts unearthed in China, Australia, Morocco, France, Korea, Libya, Brazil, Mongolia, Myanmar, Russia, USA, Indonesia and other parts of the world; among many others.
The exhibition will also feature an Activity Center where children and adults can explore and participate in interactive activities such as the Dino Art Workshop, Dino Lesson Series, Photo Gallery, and Dino Digging of the Fossils.
The cute Dino World Mascots will also be joining the guests in the tour, inter-acting with the kids in the activities and will also perform in a stage presentation.
The first and only of its kind in the region, Dino World is operated by Fun Fair venture, Inc., with the support of foreign technical and scientific team. Dino World will run until June 2007.
