THE lack of experience as a team may jeopardize Davao Province-Tagum's chances in the Davao Region Private Schools Athletic Association (Prisaa) Meet volleyball competition set to open at the University of Mindanao (UM) Matina Gym Friday afternoon.
Tagum Prisaa official Pedrito Manulat, in an interview with Sun.Star Davao Friday, said: "We have young players in our men's and women's teams. They are good but not as competitive as the players we had in the past Prisaa editions."
Manulat said Davao City teams are still the ones to beat in the Davao Amateur Volleyball Association (Dava)-sanctioned meet.
"Watch out for next year, we will be a strong force to reckon with," he said.
Davao City men's volleyball coach Daks Yambao said they will try to win the regional meet.
"We are looking forward to see action in the Iloilo national finals," Yambao said.
With barely a month to go before the National Prisaa Finals in Iloilo, the Davao Region will have to make good use of what is left for its over-all title-hunt preparations.
The region fell short by six golds to only land at second place in the nationals held in Pangasinan last year.
Davao Region athletic manager Joaquin "Boy" Sarabia recently said, "We will continue in Iloilo our hunt for the championship that evaded us last year."
A total of 23 events will be contested in the Davao Region Prisaa Meet.
