Tuesday, March 27, 2007 Teacher-witness in bomb explosion resurfaces
THE teacher, who was reportedly abducted by a non-government organization last week after a dud bomb exploded in Talaingod, Davao del Norte, resurfaced Sunday night, the military said.
Major Medel M. Aguilar, chief of the military's 5th Civil Relations Group of the Eastern Mindanao Command, said Danilo Maylas, who was earlier reported as Danilo Parayanon, only sought refuge with the leaders of Salugpongan Ta' Tanu Igkantigun.
Three children were wounded after a dud bomb they were playing with exploded in Talaingod, Davao del Norte.
Aguilar said Parayanon was the one who gave the dud bomb to the children.
"The grandfather told me that it was actually the teacher who gave the ammunition to the kids," Aguilar said Monday.
The teacher, Aguilar said, might be under threat from the different groups.
He added that relatives of the children are after him, not only for giving the dud ammunition to the children.
The Armed Forces of the Philippines and the children denied allegations of an activist leader that the children were wounded due to the indiscriminate bombing of the military. (CPM)
