DURIAN Tenpin Bowlers Association (Dutba) president Romy Serrano captured the 2007 March Monthly Qualifiers title at the expense of Paul Rabe at the NCCC Mall B3 Center Wednesday night.
Serrano received P5,000 for his feat while Rabe settled for P3,000 as runner-up prize. Third-placer Ver Avelino got P2,000 while Romy Sy took P1,000 in fourth place.
Kitz Fabiaña also got P1,000 for being the top qualifier with 719 pinfalls in three games.
Serrano grabbed the No. 1 spot and the twice-to-beat advantage in the up-the-ladder finals after striking for 1,234 pinfalls while Rabe was second with 1,194.
Rabe stunned Serrano, 217-179, in the first game of the finals but Serrano recovered with a 183-164 win over his rival in the sudden death second game. (MLSA)
