Monday, April 02, 2007 Pineda heads DC Aquathlon winners
PATRICK Pineda of Coastland Davao Swimming Team won the 7-9 years old category of the 2007 Davao City Aquathlon Challenge, Saturday,at the Gulf View Beach Resort.
Pineda bested John Zuniga and Tristan Ebon of Plunge and Athletics for the top honors while CDST bets dominated the girl's division with Katrina Aguelo, Polo Dizon and Amanda Kehl finishing 1-2-3.
Plunge's Sam Trinidad and Holiday Spa's Princess Castillo shared the limelight by taking the 10-12 years old titles even as Rachel Kehl of CDST annexed the 13-14 years old crown by beating Mary Pauline Fornea and Jullienne Zuniga of Plunge.
Sta. Ana National High School's Charisse Esmale dominated the 15-17 years old, winning over Trixie Pineda of CDST while Junie Barani of University of Mindanao bagged the 18 years old and above division and teammates Vasit Venturillo and Winston Buca came in second and third, respectively.
The event was sponsored by Mayor Rodrigo Duterte with the support of the Sports Development Division headed by City Sports Coordinator Christopher "Bong" Go and organized by the Davao City Swimming Association under President Deedee Gonzalez, who awarded the plaques to the champions and medals to the runners-up.
