Davao bets finish Asean swimfest with 2 silvers, 12 bronze medals

COASTLAND Davao Swim Team (CDST) tanker Ana Celina Gonzalez snatched another bronze medal in the girls 13-14 50-meter freestyle event at the close of the 5th Asean Interclub Age-Group Swimming Championships at the world-class Trace Aquatics Center in Los Baños, Laguna.

With this, CDST hauled a total of two silvers and 12 bronze medals in the three-day swimfest topped by the Chinese Swimming Club of Singapore.

The Trace-based Gonzalez was the most bemedaled entry of CDST after also winning a silver in 200m freestyle and four other bronzes earlier.

She also settled for third 400m freestyle, 100m butterfly, 50m butterfly and the 100m freestyle events.

Her cousin Jose Joaquin "Joboy" Gonzalez captured one silver in the boys 13-14 400m freestyle and a bronze in 50m butterfly while Allan Jovero took two bronzes in boys 15-17 50m butterfly and 100m butterfly.

Alyanna Malabanan bagged a bronze in girls 13-14 400 individual medley (IM) while Gianina Gonzalez got a bronze in the girls 50m breastroke.

The other CDST members who competed were Bea Nazareno, Bajjio Malabanan, Joshua Protasio, Brian Panganiban, Allan Jovero, Justin Dagdag, Aman Kehl, Ethel Pobre and Bianca Dizon.
