Friday, April 14, 2007 Rody, Sara differ views on killings
MAYOR Rodrigo R. Duterte said that while he is pushing his daughter Sara to become vice mayor, Sara herself is no pushover and had her own take on a lot of things, including the continued killings of crime suspects in Davao City.
Duterte, during his visit to the damaged old Bankerohan Bridge Friday, said he prefers it that way -- his daughter maintains a mind of her own, independent of how he thinks of things.
On a serious note, Duterte said that while his daughter does not agree with the "salvaging" in the city, she does not pity the hardened criminals but the families left behind.
When queried what was his advice to his daughter when she filed her certificate of candidacy for vice mayor, Duterte said, "You will always have someone against you."
He also told his daughter to find time to meet everyone in the city, especially those who are least heard. (CPM)
