Thursday, April 19, 2007 Tenorio breaks personal record
ILOILO CITY -- Defending champion Teodoro Nonato made good his promise to break his personal National Prisaa record and win the gold medal in men's long jump at the Iloilo Sports Complex track oval, here.
Davao collected a total of four golds, six silvers and one bronze as of Wednesday press time.
Nonato made a distance of 7.35 meters, smashing his 7.32 record that he made in the Zamboanga National Prisaa in 2004.
Nonato prevailed over Davao Region teammate Hobert King Adovo who made 7.12 for the silver while Region 6 bet Edelmer Pescos was behind at 6.71 for the bronze.
Marlon Oracion gave Davao its fourth gold in athletics with a time of .04.11.1 seconds in men's 100m dash while Janice Sinoy fell shy of the gold and instead settled for silver in the distaff side.
Oracion bested Marvin Dave Villar of Region 6 and Anthony Santillan of Region 7 who took the silver and the bronze, respectively.
Rgion 4A's Josephine Altamire won the gold over Sinoy while Analyn Cajayon of Region 4A had the bronze.
Over at SM City Iloilo, the Davao jins hauled one gold, two silvers and two bronzes.
Ramy Vlajar bagged the men's lightweight gold over Region 7 jin Erman Bacao, Region 1's Joel Anthony Felix and Region 4A's Jayrez Umandap.
Marija Catague salvaged the silver in women's lightweight class while Jeremias Gayo clinched the middleweight bronze. Davao also got bronzes courtesy of women's finweight Maricar Ugay and middleweight Michelle Luna. (MLSA)
