Bigger Pomelo Tee at Palos Verdes

ORGANIZERS on Thursday announced a bigger and livelier 2nd Pomelo Tee Invitational Golf Tournament, which tees off April 27-29 at the Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country in Barangay Mandug and Indangan, Davao City.

Biboy Crisostomo, appearing before the regular Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum Thursday morning at the Tower Inn, said aside from bigger prizes at stake to the winners, they also have numerous items as raffle prizes.

"This one is bigger," said Crisostomo, adding that some 400 golfers from all over the country are expected to see action in the event.

The three-day tournament is open to all male and female amateur golfers, 21 years old and above. A maximum handicap of 24 shall be used with the certification duly signed by the handicap in-charge.

The tournament format is 36 Hole Stableford team competition. Guest players must be members of any Sta. Lucia-built golf courses.

Tournament fee is pegged at P3,500 per player. Members are only allowed to play with a 2nd team. Members who decide to play for a second team are required to pay an additional amount of P1,000. Mulligan is 200 per 18 Holes.

Deadline for the submission of entry will be on April 23 and deadline for payment is April 20.

The hole-in-one prizes include one unit Isuzo Sportivo, which is sponsored by Southern Motors Corporation; one unit golf cart from Yamaha; 200 sq. meters lot from South Pacific Golf Leisure State, which is sponsored by Sta. Lucia Realty and Dev't Incorporated; and P1 million cash.

In the event that two or more players make a hole-in-one in any of te par 3 holes for the same designated prize, then the said prize shall be divided equally among the winners. (CRAM)
