THE River of God Church shocked Beatitudes Christian Fellowship, 78-77, Sunday in the Inter-Church Basketball League at the Davao City Recreational Center.
The TVG Reality sponsored-River Of God Church of Pastor Blair Cuares was down by 2 points, 77-75, with eight seconds remaining in the final quarter when Spitfire Wilmer Osa buried a buzzer-beater shot to win the ballgame.
Wilmer Osa topscored with 18 points for River of God, while Ryan Lomutos topscored for Beatitudes Christian Fellowship of Pastor Alex Villanueva with 21 points.
In an earlier game, defending champion Good Shepherd Church of Rolando Sancho demolished the struggling Household Of Faith, 98-50.
Arnel Miranda of Good Shepherd topscored with 14 points, while Tata Minada and Jericho Olegario had 14 points apiece.
Grace Baptist Church Team A also humbled sister-team Grace Baptist Church Team B, 77-70.
Fred Recto topscored for Grace Baptist Church with 24 points.
