Thursday, April 26, 2007 Marco Polo cited as child labor-free firm
THE Employers' Confederation of the Philippines (Ecop) awarded the Marco Polo Hotel Davao as a child labor-free establishment over other hotels in the whole Philippines.
"We don't even know that there is such award given by the Ecop, we just really do what we think is our responsibility to the society and community and that is our advocacy program for children," Marco Polo Davao Human Resource manager Chona Lizada said at Club 888 press forum Wednesday.
Lizada said Ecop sent them an invitation and a questionnaire regarding their labor practices.
"A team from Ecop also came over to check our documents, we had live presentation of our advocacy for children's welfare. Aside from that Ecop also conducted a series of interview," Lizada said. (JGRS)
