Another program to boost productivity launch Tuesday
By Joy Romares-Sevilla

THE regional office of the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) launches Tuesday another program that will give recognition to outstanding employer/employee in Davao Region.

The launch will be held at the Holy Cross of Davao College.

The program, dubbed as "Search for Outstanding Private Employer/Employee in Region 11", has been an annual search in Caraga Region and in Cagayan de Oro for several years now, where new Dole regional director Ponciano Ligutom has once served.

"When I moved in as the new regional director in February, I came up with the idea of bringing the program here kasi wala pa ang program na yan dito," Ligutom said.

Ligutom said the program "will surely have a good impact because it can increase and improve productivity and competitiveness among private employers and employees."

"We will give recognition to the excellent people for others to emulate them," he said.

Ligutom said through the program, workers and employers who are doing good in their work, will strive harder.

The "Search for Outstanding Private Employer/Employee in Region 11", is just one of the two initial programs Ligutom has initiated for the 2007 Labor Day celebration.

The other program, dubbed as the "Pangutana Mo, I-Text Mo", was launched Friday. It is a program that enables clients to just text their questions or concerns about labor matters.
