THE police and military investigation into intelligence reports linking two retired and one reserved military officials and a city mayor will continue despite denial from the so-called suspects.
Task Force Raptor Commander Brigadier General Antonio Amodia, however, admitted they still do not have any solid evidence that will pin down the suspects.
Amodia said of the four officials, the name of the military reservist, who now works as a chief security officer of a security agency in the region, usually crops up as someone who has strong links with the New People's Army.
"Siya yung usually nali-link sa mga NPA. Pero yung dalawang retired officers at yung mayor di masyado (But the two retired officers and the mayor not really)," Amodia said.
Police Regional Office (PRO)-Southern Mindanao Director Andres Caro, meanwhile, said they are now validating the veracity of the intelligence report.
Caro said he was not aware earlier of the details of the military intelligence report and only came across it after it was published in the newspaper.
This early though, Caro said they have no solid evidence especially against the mayor.
