Hawaii-based golfers to play in Singh event
By Charles Raymond A. Maxey

TEAMS from Hawaii and Las Vegas have confirmed their participation in the coming Lucho Singh Invitational Golf Tournament, which tees off July 8 at the scenic Apo Golf and Country Club.

The Vegas team headed by Rolando D. Ladislao, realtor/owner of the American Rralty & Investment Inc., and another squad from Hawaii spearheaded by Consul General Ariel Abadilla are coming over to play in the fund-raising tournament to help cancer patients in Davao City.

Lucho Singh, a cancer survivor himself and organizer of the 18-hole event, said former representative Jun Abinsay is also seeing action.

Singh also announced that Carmerlita Singh Fuller and Danny Fuller from Texas have also pledged to be patron of the tournament supported by no less than the city's top sportsman--Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte.

"More and more people have thrown their support to this tournament. Hopefully we can get local support from Davao," Singh said.

Meanwhile, Bella Sarenas of the Amuma Cancer Support Group Foundation Inc., the beneficiary of the noble project, said she was elated there are people like Mr. Singh who suppor their cause.

"As far as I know, there not one in Amuma who plays golf so it is with wonder and excitement that I look forward to this event," Sarenas said.

"When one is touched by cancer as a patient or caregiver, one takes relationship seriously. I give glory to God for the friendships being formed in our weekly Tuesday meetings and media guestings," added Sarenas, who is also the tournament coordinator.

Proceeds of the project will be used to build a wellness center in Davao.
