Kiko is No. 1 on Duterte's list
By Carlo P. Mallo

DAVAO City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte wants independent senatorial candidate Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan to emerge as No. 1 during the May polls.

In a press conference Thursday night, a teary-eyed Sharon Cuneta-Pangilinan, singer-actress wife of Pangilinan, said she is very grateful for the support extended by the mayor to her family.

"The mayor does not have to raise the arm of my husband to show his support for him, it already meant a lot when he wanted him to be number 1," Sharon said.

Moreover, Pangilinan was humbled by the declaration of Mayor Duterte.

The senatorial candidate pledged to abide by the "internal agreement" with the city mayor.

Duterte also reminded Pangilinan to make the necessary corrections in the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Law.

For his part, Pangilinan promised to revisit the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Law that he has authored.

Pangilinan was in the city Thursday to grace the kick off of his nationwide caravan as his last salvo before the election campaign comes to an end on May 13.

A mini-concert rally was prepared by Pangilinan at the UM gymansium in Matina. Despite the presence of bands from Manila, a measly 1,500 people showed up at the event, less than a third of the capacity of the venue.
