Tuesday, May 08, 2007 Coseteng fails to get Quiboloy endorsement By Carlo P. Mallo
THE presence of Genuine Opposition senatorial candidate Ana Dominique "Nikki" Coseteng during a major gathering at the Kingdom of Jesus Christ open field in Camp Catitipan Sunday night was not enough for her to be included in the Magic 13 list of senatoriables endorsed by evangelist Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.
"I was hoping to be endorsed, but I was not really expecting," Coseteng said in an interview after Quiboloy announced the names of the candidates he is endorsing for the upcoming May 14 polls.
Quiboloy admitted that Coseteng was not invited to the gathering.
But reports have it that the comebacking senator was prodded by Davao City congressional candidate Billy Aportadera to attend the event.
"We invited those who would be endorsed, but everyone is welcome to attend the affair," Quiboloy said.
He admitted being uncomfortable with Coseteng's presence.
"That is why I did not invite her because I don't want anyone feeling uncomfortable, either me or her," he said, "I am a person who if I can help everyone, I will because I am a spiritual leader. But when it comes to this, only 12 are to be chosen and I have even made it 13 for us here," he added.
He said Coseteng's name did not crop up among the choices in committee leadership or among the ministry's coordinators all over the country.
"I wish I could name all 24 candidates, however, my prayers are also with those that I have not mentioned," Quiboloy said.
Key personalities who attended the event, as well as all politicians were acknowledged upon their arrival.
Coseteng said she was in the city for another purpose. "I came here for the youth camp," she said.
