Tuesday, May 15, 2007 Havaianas at Pops By Jojie Alcantara Witerary
MULTICOLORED Havaianas flipflops were hung from the ceilings of posh bar Pops in Wheels 'n More Drive on JP Laurel Avenue as Havaianas threw a party before saying bye to hot, hot summer! And this was only the Part I of the summer party!
Martish Marketing Company duo Marga Nograles (general manager) and Trisha Ang (marketing director), exclusive distributor in Southern and Western Mindanao and responsible for bringing the famed slippers here, treated guests to fire dancers and poi and drum beaters (courtesy of Jammin Grava Drum Beaters) to celebrate another party event for Labor Day.
Guests came in their most chic beach attire and partied with the rest while the beat went on throughout the night.
Prizes were given away to the best beach attires (ahem, buddy Ian Garcia and I were among the judges) as well as other surprise gifts for the night.
Rhonson, Paul Borromeo, Jinggoy and I clicked away with our usual demeanor at parties, cameras in one hand, beer on the other.
Of course, am never seen without my can of Coke Light. But drinks were really overflowing as my editor Nelson and I kept climbing up and down the stairs for a refill of some sweet mix of vodka.
Special drinks were provided at the VIP room on the second floor of the bar since Pops owner Bryan Lim celebrated his birthday at the same time, with fellow celebrant Sue Ann Orig.
Same faces, same places, parties in Davao will always make you comfortable because you know you're gonna be bumping into your old, old friends, whether in donned in an 80's outfit, beach wear, or formals.
99Congrats, Havaianas! See you at its Part 2 Hot Summer Party! (React to witty@info.com.ph or browse website www.witerary.com.)
