GENUINE Opposition (GO) senatorial candidates are still leading in the final unofficial tally released by Namfrel-Davao Operation Quick Count Saturday morning.
Covering 3,038 of Davao City's 3,586 clustered precincts, results showed that eight GO candidates, two from Team Unity, and two independents were in the winning circle.
GO bet Francis Escudero topped among the candidates with 235,445 votes. He is followed by partymates Loren Legarda with 222,681, Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III with 218,929 votes, and Panfilo Lacson with 218,083 votes.
Independent candidate Francis Pangilinan was on 5th spot with 192,138 votes.
Placing 6th is GO bet Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel IV with 191,418 votes; 7th is independent Gregorio Honasan with 182,726 votes; 8th is another GO bet and current Senate president Manuel Villar with 178,024 votes; 9th is Juan Miguel Zubiri, the first TU bet to make it to the top 12, with 174, 297 votes and Alan Peter Cayetano, also of GO taking the 10th spot with 169,577 votes.
Taking the 11th spot is TU bet Joker Arroyo with 157,555 votes and 12th is Antonio Trillanes with 153,661 votes.
Trailing behind Trillanes with a difference of 1,581 votes is Edgardo Angara.
The tandem of reelectionist Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and lawyer-daughter Sara are already assured of victory. They were to be proclaimed along with other winners in congressional and city council races late Saturday night.
The older Duterte got 338,909 votes while the highest among his opponents is Teodoro Mantilla with only 1,682 votes marking a difference of 337,227 votes.
Sara got 310,358 votes while her lone opponent Dr. Jeff Ho tallied 38,997 -- a whopping 271,361 vote difference.
