DELEGRATES from the Northern Territory Government of Australia are set to arrive in Davao City this week for the presentation of the 3rd Phase of the BIMP-Eaga Business Portal.
The BIMP-Eaga Business Portal, launched during last year's Darwin Dialogue, is an initiative of the Northern Territory Government of Australia, in conjunction with Microsoft and TechniOne Business Solutions, which seeks to provide a one-stop source of information on various trade and investment opportunities in each of the Eaga focal areas, including the Northern Territory.
Australia is pursuing this project as part of its commitment of further strengthening trade and investment information exchange within the BIMP-Eaga Region.
The Australian delegation is headed by Quentin Kilian from the Department of the Chief Minister and Craig Hubbard of TechnicaOne Business Solutions.
"The portal which seeks to provide a one-stop source of information on various trade and investment opportunities in each of the Eaga focal areas, including the Northern Territory and a vehicle for Small and Medium Enterprises from around the BIMP-Eaga and the Northern Territory to list and market their products and services free of charge to both regional and global markets," Kilian said in a statement.
Mindanao Business Council chair Romeo Serra meanwhile expressed hope for the project to get the interest of business people, especially the farmers, traders, manufacturers, agri producers and joint venture partner seekers.
"The presentation on Friday will not only be a good introduction for everyone on the features of the facility but will also allow us the opportunity to comment on the Portal for it to better serve our needs," Serra said.
At present the portal (www.bebp.org) has over 800 companies listed on it and since its launch last year has received over 100,000 hits to the website.
The Public Presentation of the 3rd Phase of the BIMP-EAGA Business Portal will be held on Friday, 1 p.m. at the Monteclaire Room of the Grand Men Seng Hotel.
The public presentation, which is free of charge, will roll-out Phase 3 of the Portal's implementation and will introduce the SMEs of the region to some of its exciting new features.
Kilian and Hubbard will be working closely with the BIMP-EAGA organizations and business councils in each of the member countries, with the Mindanao Business Council taking the lead on the Philippine side.
