A 36-MEMBER Coastland Davao Swim Team (CDST) will try to defend its crown in the Davao Mayor's Cup Age-Group swimming competition, which plunges into action at the Ladislawa Country Club in Buhangin from May 25-27.
CDST secretary and Davao City Swimming Association (DCSA) president Deedee Gonzalez said this Tuesday.
Gonzalez said National Prisaa Games 2007 seven-gold medalist Carlo Rodriguez of the Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) will lead the cast for CDST in the three-day swimfest that expects close to 200 entries from all over Visayas and Mindanao.
A handful of participants from Puerto Princesa, Bacolod and Naga will also show their wares in the tournament that features six-under, seven to eight, nine to 10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-17 and 18-above categories.
Rodriguez along with teammates Allan Jovero, Boggey Angala, Dom Venuti, Joshua Bañes, Janvee Bañes, Bamboo Dizon, EJ Villaver, Mumar Alamara, Carlo Nazareno, Francis Puentespina, Kiko Isaguirre, Tomas Nazareno, Patrick Pineda, Uno Evangelista, Brian Panganiban, Abner Saimodin and Lemuel Ledesma are entered in the boys’ side.
Seeing action in the girls side are Rachel Kehl, Jessica Pineda, Xina Evangelista, Trixie Pineda, Fatima Alamara, Bianca Dizon, Mika Isaguirre, Ethel Pobre, Jam Dagdag, Aman Kehl, Polo Dizon, Janna de Luna, Trina Aguelo, Yanyan de Luna, Aimee Nazareno, Althaea Benignos, Dani Aguelo and Analie Rodriguez.
The winners will get medals and trophies with Ceelina and Arena gift packs awaiting bemedaled tankers.
