He said, "We've been preparing for the tournament but I couldn't predict a sweep of all events. I believe all the other clubs are also going into the tournament ready to do battle."

The full contact competition, according to him, expects 200 participants from Mindanao clubs, Dumaguete, Bacolod, and Cavite.

"The tournament will have a beginners division for white and orange belts and an advance category for green and red belts. It will have youth categories for five to seven years old, seven to nine, 10-12, 13-15 and 15-17," he said.

He said the adult categories are midget for five-feet-two and below players, flyweight, bantamweight, featherweight, lightweight, middleweight and heavyweight.

Grandeza said, "There will also be a battle of the ages for 35 years old and above players."

The tournament also serves as a promotional event for the competing players. MLSA)
