VETERAN Arthur Galendez struck for a total of 1,133 pinfalls to emerge champion in the 1st Datba Lane Masters Club Tournament at the NCCC Mall B3 Center Tuesday night.
He bested Iam Ancheta and Davao Tenpin Bowlers Association (Datba) president Billy Magdale who placed second and third, respectively.
Ancheta rolled 1,112 pins while Magdale made 1,105 pinfalls in the six-game series.
Magdale, meanwhile, told members of the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) in their weekly sports forum yesterday that they just concluded their summer youth camp recently.
He said they will hold youth weekly tournaments to provide exposure to Davao players who will compete in upcoming national tournaments.
"It's expensive to bring the players to Cebu or Manila for regular competition so it's best that they get to play here on a weekly basis to prepare them for big tournaments," he added. (MLSA)
