Court orders arrest of PLDT wire thieves

THE Regional Trial Court ordered the arrest of two men accused of stealing transmission lines of the Philippine Long Distance Company in Toril, Davao City, this May.

RTC branch presiding judge Jaime Quitain ordered the arrest of Jay-R Abella Golez, a resident of Macleod in Toril, Davao City, and Danilo Revilla Labial, a resident of Fagil in Sirawan, also in Toril.

The two suspects were charged based on the complaint of Police Officer Abundio Villamor Jr. of the Toril police.

Villamor was parked by the roadside in Bato, Toril at around 9:30 a.m. of May 13 when the two men on board a motorcycle stopped nearby.

Villamor said the passenger was holding a sack and when he approached to ask what the sack contained, the two ran.

He was able to corner the man holding the sack and found that it contained burnt wires.

The PLDT later confirmed those were telephone wires.
