Unabia said the simultaneous running event will also be conducted in 16 other regions nationwide aside from Davao.

"Close to 700 entries have registered so far. But we are expecting more than
1,000 runners and enthusiasts in the event," Unabia said.

The race features the 21K marathone, 10k and 5k fun run and the 3K family run.

"We have cancelled the 15K run since it has no registrant. We're pushing through with the four other categories though," Unabia said.

The Philippine National Police Region 11 is fielding 500 participants in the 10K category while new police recruits based in Mintal will see action in the 21K marathon.

Professional runners from Davao City, Kidapawan, Tagum and Digos are
also coming to join run-for-a-cause.

The NCCC Group of Companies confirmed to send 40 while Davao Light and Power Company will have 30 entries in the running event sponsored by Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte, PNP Regional Director Andres Caro.

The Run for P.E.A.C.E., as the acronym stands, aims to plant the church, equip servant leaders, assist the poor, caring for the sick and educating the next generation.

It is in cooperation with the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office headed by Christopher "Bong" Go, Davao City Sports Council Incorporated, Regional Peace and Order Council, City Peace and Order Council, Regional Mobile Group, Rescue 911, Traffic Management Center, Dept. of Interior and Local Government and Sunday Runners Clyub, among other supporters.
