Wednesday, June 13, 2007 Davao SMEs urged to join Cebu expo
THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Southern Mindanao has urged all small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Davao Region to join the Cebu Food Expo '07 slated on June 28 to 30, at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
The Cebu Food Expo will feature an international exhibition on food and beverages, packaging and processing technology, bakery equipment and ingredients, confectionery, handling and catering, hospitality industries, and franchising and business opportunities.
Trade Assistant Secretary Merly M. Cruz said the region's SMEs must participate in the activity for them to have a chance of getting new ideas especially that Cebu Food Expo is regarded as a marketplace of top executives, entrepreneurs, educational institutions, purchasers, professionals, consultants from bakery and coffee shops, hotels, restaurants, resorts, fast food chains, and country clubs from all over the country.
"This is also an opportunity for the local SMEs to get some thoughts from their counterparts who are attending the three-day affair. As they observe the display of other participants, they will somehow get some concepts on how to further improve their products in terms of taste and packaging," she said.
Furthermore, Cruz cited the opportunity for Davao-based entrepreneurs to meet prospective clients and buyers.
Interested SMEs may contact Mary Rose Borinaga of DTI 11's Trade Development Division at (082) 2204-0511 local 415 on or before June 15.
