South Cotabato bets stamp class

THE South Cotabato Amateur Swimming Association (Scasa) amassed a total of 289 points to emerge champion in the 5th Mindanao Novice Swim Meet, at the Woodrige Park and Country Club in Maa, Davao City.

The Plunge and Athletic Swim Club garnered 273 points for third place while the Polomolok Aqua Sprinters Swim Club placed third with 212.

In fourth place was the Holiday Spa and Fitness Center, which accumulated a total of 201 points, followed by Sea Lions Club of Koronadal City (162) fifth, Dadiangas Torpedoes Swim Club (137) sixth, Evangelista Aquatics Swim Club (129) seventh, Coastland Davao Swim Team (CDST) eighth, Aqua Tierra Team (24) ninth, Finns Swim Clinics (15) 10th and Panabo (14) 11th.

Mark Philip Te of Plunge booked 24 points to be named top individual swimmer in the boys 9-10 category while Jessa Mae Calo-oy of Polomolok took the girls title in the same event with 28 points.

Scasa bet Jicilli Airo Jinn Gardose got 36 points while Plunge entry Joseph Isiah Trinidad also made 36 to share the honors in 15 and over female and male categories, respectively.

Mae Ann Lallab of Scasa ruled the girls 13-14 with 31 points while DTSC's Maverick Santos had 13 for the boys title.

In the six-and-under category, Franco Maxell del Rio of Plunge and Mariel Angel Sorolla of Polomolok captured the boys and girls crowns even as Plunge's Sophia Danica Trinidad and Polomolok's Johndyl Calo-oy topped the 7-8 bracket.

Polomolok's Mark Donniel Mendez dominated the boys 11-12 while Anthena Cam swept the girls side.

Medals and Ceelin products were given away to the winners of the one-day swim fest.
