Prices of fish in Davao stable By Joy Romares-Sevilla
PRICES of fish at the local market in Davao City are not affected by the rainy season, this according to some fish vendors in Agdao public market Wednesday.
"Fish prices are stable, there's still a lot of fishermen who go on fishing even if it's already rainy season," Sarie Saga, a fish vendor told Sun.Star Davao.

"There is still an abundant supply of fish especially from Surigao," Glenda Sueco, another fish vendor, said.
It was learned that milkfish now is pegged at P110 to P120 per kilogram, while Lapu-lapu costs P250 per kilo. Matambaka, moro-moro, and dalagang-bukid, on the other hand, cost P90, P70, and P30 per kilogram, respectively.
Meanwhile, Bryan Padilla, another fish vendor, claimed that prices of fish can only be affected if there is lesser fish catch.
On the other hand, the regional director of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (Bfar) Southern Mindanao earlier said they are not encouraging fishermen to go on fishing during bad weather.
"Marami pa rin ang nagpapalaot kahit umuulan (there are still many who go out the sea fishing despite the rain), but we always encourage our fishermen na ipagpaliban muna ang pangingisda kasi delikado (but we discourage fishermen from doing it because of the danger)," George Campeon, Bfar regional director, said.
