NSO sees more than 12M population hike

THE National Statistics Office (NSO) projects a 12 million-plus population increase (from year 2000) for the year 2007 though the actual census for this year is yet to start by August 1.

Based on the Census of Population and Housing conducted decennially by NSO, the total population of the Philippines as of May 1, 2000 was 76,504,077 persons.
