CAGAYAN de Oro (CDO) and Sarangani netters signed up to join the 2nd Mayor Arsenio Latasa Age-Group Tennis Championships set at the NFA Tennis Club in Digos City on July 14 to 16, 2007.
This was confirmed to Sun.Star Davao Monday by Philippine Tennis Association (Philta) regional vice-president for Mindanao Juanito "Titong" Cansino Jr.
"The Pimentel siblings of Sarangani will compete in the Group 4 Philta-sanctioned event along with a handful of players from CDO," Cansino said.
Cansino said the presence of Sarangani and Cagayan de Oro players will give top favorites from Davao City a stiff competition.
The three-day tournament stakes trophies and Penn balls to the winners in the 10-under unisex, boys and girls 12-under, 14-under, 16-under and 18-under categories.
City councilor and NFA Tennis Club president Lani Gabutero is hosting the tournament organized as part of the Padigosan Festival celebration. (MLSA)
