THE City Council lauded the e-Squared Events Organizing and its cooperators for holding the First Davao Cyber Expo last July 4 to 6 at the Activity Center of the NCCC Mall, Matina, Davao City.
A resolution, proposed by City Councilor Teresita Marañon, was approved by the City Council, lauding the e-Squared for initiating such event.
Marañon said the ICT is undeniably becoming a vital component in the economic development and progress of countries like the Philippines and that multimedia and graphic animation, as manifested in cyber games and animated movies, is an area not fully developed locally, but promises to be and emerging niche for creative and talented Dabawenyos.
Marañon said with the staging of Cyber Expo, organizers were able to showcase and feature different healthy competitions which further helped uplift the image of cyber culture in Davao City.
The cyber expo gathered the best cyber gamers and the finest graphic designers and animators in Davao City and parts of Northern Mindanao. It also aims to educate and inspire young minds to get into the ICT industry.
