The project was introduced to the small and medium enterprises in Davao Region. SMEs are seen to benefit from the branding system.

"It's really more to develop our SMEs and of course to give assurance to our customers na pag Davao-made products, andoon (there is) assurance of quality and reliability," Pasawa said.
"We want to have a brand of our own for the Davao Region so we have this branding program for manufactured products. We've come up with an official logo that is proudly Davao," said Leny Castillo, member of the Board of Trustees of the DCCCII and promoter of the branding system.
Chris Antonissen, a Dutch PUM senior expert, said this branding system is necessary because several SMEs are existing in Davao Region.
"It is essential because new businesses are developing here, the products should be accredited, also it will generate better growth and better profit for businesses in Davao," Antonissen said, adding that the branding system would also create a globally competitive Philippine micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Castillo, meanwhile, said the branding system is designed to help SMEs.
"Our big brother companies, which operate in the Philippines and internationally, will serve as our brand bearer to carry the Davao logo so that the brand will easily be recognized in the market. These big brother companies have the excellence and quality we are looking for," Castillo said.
The program's main objective is to support and sustain growing awareness and acceptance of Davao products in the market place via step-by-step approach: step 1: local; step 2: national; and finally step 3: international.
